West Seattle Helpline Recognized by Washington State Senate

WA Senate Rostrum

The West Seattle Helpline was recognized in the Washington State Senate on Thursday, March 30th. The Senate unanimously passed SR 8615; a resolution honoring West Seattle's work preventing homelessness, providing emergency services, and supporting under-served families and individuals in our community. Senator Sharon Nelson, who represents the 34th legislative district, spoke on the Senate floor in support of the resolution and in praise of the West Seattle Helpline's local impact.

"I've been proud to be a part of the West Seattle Helpline team every day since I started here two years ago, but today was truly special. We are immensely grateful to Senator Nelson, her legislative staff, and the volunteers, donors, and community partners whose tireless support have made this wonderful honor possible!" Chris Langeler, Executive Director

Senator Nelson's office also organized a clothing drive among legislators and their staffs, sending the West Seattle Helpline staff home with a car full of professional attire to help stock the new location for their Clothesline program in the West Seattle Junction.
