West Seattle Helpline Announces NHN 2017 Special Guest Speaker

Meet our Special Guest Speaker, Gregg Hersholt

Gregg Hersholt

The West Seattle Helpline is honored to announce Gregg Hersholt as our special guest speaker at our 8th annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Dinner & Auction! Gregg is an award-winning journalist, who has been sharing compelling stories on the radio to Seattle listeners for over 40 years.

Gregg has been exposed to the radio industry at a young age, and the idea of storytelling and reporting current events piqued his interest. After graduating from Gonzaga University in 1973, Gregg worked at KJRB Radio, a Top 40 rock n’ roll station in Spokane. He worked for some radio stations in Portland, before moving to Seattle to become a news director at KJR Radio and KVI Radio. He then moved on to work for KIRO News Radio, where he became a reporter, an in-studio news anchor, and a morning news host for 26 years. He was most noted for as the host for the morning news show for a decade. Today, Gregg is a co-anchor of the Morning News on KOMO News Radio with Manda Factor.

Gregg’s wife, Maureen, co-founded the West Seattle Helpline in 1989. She, along with our founder, Richard “Dick” Rhodes, our board secretary, Rev. Ron Marshall and many caring neighbors living in the West Seattle community shared the same belief that members in the community should help one another during hardships. Gregg’s involvement with the West Seattle Helpline started since the beginning; he became the first board president from 1992-1995, and during those three years, has been heavily proactive to create an impact for our neighbors in West Seattle.

Gregg and Maureen still live in West Seattle, and are still actively involved with the West Seattle Helpline. They are one of our top donors, who have continuously supported our programs and services, and have been attending our annual events for years. We are so grateful for their generosity and support over the past years, and we are so excited to have them both at NHN this year!

Come meet Gregg & Maureen Hersholt at NHN! It is only one week away, so make sure to buy your tickets! Ticket sales close on Sunday, October 29th at 11:59 pm. We would love to see you all there!
