The Taste of West Seattle 2017 was a huge hit with over 40 restaurants present to share their favorite tastes, treats and pours with our neighbors.  Serving a sell-out crowd of over 500 people, the wide variety of tasty dishes and drinks were crowd pleasers! This year’s Taste also featured a fun photo booth sponsored by Potter Construction, a raffle for two airline tickets, and a balloon pop with chances to win gift cards to some of our favorite restaurants in West Seattle.

This year’s Taste, presented by Metropolitan Market, raised an incredible $70,105! These funds will help prevent homelessness for over 200 families through the West Seattle Helpline’s emergency services.  This was the most we have ever raised at a Taste event and those funds are already at work boosting our capacity to serve our West Seattle neighbors.

As always, the race for “Best Taste, Pour, and Sweet” was the highlight of the evening. This year’s winners included: Fresh Bistro’s sashimi scallops with tomato miso vinaigrette, wasabi aioli and pickled ginger won Best Taste, Stuffed Cakes’  pineapple inside cake cupcakes, boozy Mr. Barker chocolate dream cupcakes, key lime cupcakes,  and neapolitan cupcakes won Best Sweet, and finally, The Westy’s cucumber smash won Best Pour. Be sure to go check out their award-winning tastes in person, where you can also see their winner’s plaques on-display!

Finally, a massive THANK YOU to all in attendance at this year’s Taste. Even though the competition between the incredible dishes and drinks this year was outstanding, there was no competition for the “best community” - West Seattle wins that hands-down! Thanks to all our guests, volunteers, venue hosts, restaurant representatives, and overall supporters. It certainly was an amazing night to spend with our friends, family, and neighbors!
